One thing that I learned early on in life is that we are all created unique and with very different talents and strengths. If you want to succeed in life, you need to know who you are, what you are good at and what excites you to the point that you will be willing to go through all the struggles to experience that excitement.
For me, that excitement comes from solving problems with technology. It all started when I was 6 years old. Sitting in front of an IBM PC, playing Frogger from a floppy drive, I knew that I want to be involved in technology for the rest of my life.
I started off by completing my MCSE and worked mainly as a Systems Engineer on Microsoft Products like Server, Exchange and SQL as well as various Networking technologies. As I had a chance to progress in my career, I changed my focus to network and computer security. I have a good understanding of COBIT and ISO27000 and the management of the SLA’s required to comply with these standards. I currently manage the Policies, Procedures, Data and Software for a Road Asset Management System. The system compliance is based on the ISO 55000 (Asset Management) Standard.
My Top 5 Strengths (Gallup StrengthsFinder) are Analytical, Ideation, Intellection, Learner and Deliberative. The first 4 strengths fall into the Strategic Thinking group and the last strength comes from the Executing group.
I search for reasons and causes and I have the ability to think about all the factors that might affect a situation. I am fascinated by ideas and find connections between seemingly disparate phenomena. I am characterized by my intellectual activity and I am introspective and appreciate intellectual discussions. I have a great desire to learn and want to continuously improve. I also take serious care in making decisions or choices and I can anticipate obstacles.
